The exploration and plantation of tea (based on the age-old mieng) in Thailand began for the first time in 1941 by a pioneering man, Mr. Prasit Poomchusri an outstanding Chiang Mai farmer and the founder of Raming Tea Co., Ltd. Prasit was inspired to plant northern tea after he read the journal 'All about Tea' in the Tea and Coffee Trade Journal which mentioned Lanna as one of the world's original tea resources. |
