Poise (P) เป็นหน่วยของความหนืด (viscosity) ของของเหลว ในระบบเมตริกคือ

1 P = 1 dyne.sec.cm^-2 หรือ

1 P = 1 g.cm^-1.sec^-1

1 poise คือ แรงที่ใช้ทำให้ของเหลวที่มีพื้นที่หน้าตัด 1 cm² หนา 1 cm เคลื่อนที่ด้วยความเร็ว 1 cm/sec นิยมใช้ หน่วย centipoise
(1 poise = 100 centipoise) 1 centipoise มีค่าเท่ากับ 0.01 poise

ความหนืดของน้ำบริสุทธ์ที่อุณหภูมิห้องมีค่าประมาณ 1 centipoise

1 Poise = 100 Centipoise

1 Centipoise = 1 mPa s (Millipascal Second)

1 Poise = 0.1 Pa s (Pascal Second) Centipoise = Centistoke x Density
